![]() ![]() I am past hoping for a simple, elegant solution, I'll be happy with just whatever would work at this point. Anyone have some genius or subgenius insights on how to do this ? Need to put the new drive in an external enclosure then find some way to write the OS image to it. Is there any work around to get my cloned image onto the new SDD ? So far I have only imagined that I would I have not found away to do a boot from an OS image on an external USB drive, ( which, by some reports, is also not possible ! ) The ultimate goal is to upgrade the SDD from 500 GB to a new 2 TB drive. I have searched dell forums where this question comes up, but have found only the question and no solution. ![]() The processor, as many of us know, has no option to downgrade to a legacy bios.Īlso the UEFI bios in the Dell system does not display any alternate " boot from " options. I mean Dell Inspiron 7506 that has a 7th gen processor, and uses UEFI bios. ![]()
